Conditions As Reported by the Trail Groomers

We are working with the AuSable Valley Snow Groomers to keep you updated with the the most current conditions. They have agreed to report to us what the trail conditions are as they are out and about working on them for us to keep this page up to date for you. Their cooperation is greatly appreciated and we hope that you will find this useful in your plans throughout the winter.

Oscoda County Recreational Riders Association- Bob Matteson of OCRRA also offers his perspective of trail conditions as he finds them while pleasure riding.

We've been seeing snow just about every day this week and it's looking like you will get your miles on the machines this year. While the main roads are in good shape for safe driving the side roads are plowed but have lots of packed snow and surely some ice hiding below so use care when traveling on the side roads.

Spoke to the Trail Groomers today and they have been out and groomed twice already this week and report that there is heavy snow pack on the trails and the trails in Oscoda County are in great shape for riding. Load up the sleds, come on up and enjoy the trails. Have a great time and ride safe.

Don't forget to stop in The Knot Hole Bar when you need a break from the trails.

Well, here we are with another warming spell that is sure to melt off a lot of our snow and only time will tell as to what the damage is to the trails. There is an expectation of snow again in a few days so will try to keep you posted as to the conditions as best we can.

Yesterday the snow gods blessed us with an additional 10-12". And once again the groomers were out on the trails making sure they are ready for you to enjoy. Today they report the trails are in excellent condition

Yesterday we had a heat wave Wink! Temperature reached into the 40's and we got lot's of rain which melted and packed quite a bit of snow. Today though The Temp. plummeted rapidly back to single digits and we froze back up. Trail groomers won't be out on the trails again until Wednesday to see what damage the rain has done. We'll get an update on as soon they get a chance to check them out and report in.

We received another 6" of snow yesterday and just got the word from the groomers that the trails are in the best shape they've seen. Travel should be easy as the main roads are clear and most of the side roads have been plowed but do have snow cover.

We had several Snowmobilers in  over the weekend and they say the trail are in awesome condition for riding. They had many compliments to the Trail Groomers for their work out on the trails. We have forecasts of snow every day this week so this should only add to the fun. Grab the sleds, come on up and join the fun.
